What experience do you have?
We’ve shot many wedding videos and have only ever received positive feedback about the finished article. People often say our DVDs look just like a real TV programme, and we always exceed their expectations.
We’ve also got bags of TV industry experience, which means we can produce high quality DVDs. See our About page for more information.
What areas do you cover?
We have bases in the South East, West Midlands and North West of England and are able to operate in and around these areas. But we’re happy to consider weddings and events further afield.
Are your packages flexible?
Our experience shows that the three packages we provide give the perfect range of flexibility. On top of this we do offer a few extras, which have proved very popular with couples in the past.
If the packages set out don’t suit your particular wedding day, we’re always happy to discuss your ideas.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we have Public Liability Insurance cover. Some venues may not allow filming without proof of PLI. We're fully covered - other companies may not be.
What if the church or venue for the ceremony has restrictions on filming?
Some churches or venues have restrictions on filming within the buildings, so we suggest you check with them first, prior to booking with us. You should also be aware that some venues charge an additional fee to have a videographer present during the ceremony, which you are responsible for paying.
A point to note is that we’ve filmed videos in the past which didn’t include the ceremony because of such restrictions, and the DVD was still an excellent documentation of the day. You can see more in our samples library.
How far in advance should I book?
As with many wedding related services, you should attempt to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. However, if your booking is short-notice please get in touch as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to help.
Do you charge for travel?
We generally don’t charge for travel when we’re working in our catchment areas, however in some rare cases, we may have to. We’ll always tell you if this is necessary before you book.
How do I book?
The easiest way to book is to simply give us a call. To secure the date we require a deposit of £150, which will be put towards the price of the package. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable.
Once the booking is confirmed, we’ll send you out a pack with all the information you need to know.
How can I pay?
The remaining balance can be paid via Cheque or Bank Transfer. We require this to be paid a minimum of 14 days before the wedding day.
If you are considering making your payment via credit card, please call us and we will try to accommodate this. Will you film events before or after the wedding day?
Although this is not something we openly offer, we’re always happy to discuss additional extras that you may want.
Will you attend the rehearsals or meet with us before the wedding day?
On most occasions we don’t attend the rehearsals due to time constraints and so that we can keep our price to you down. However, before the day we’ll take time to speak to you in detail over the phone to confirm plans for the day and find out exactly what you want from us. We also send out a personalised pack, which will provide you with all the information you need.
On the big day itself, we’ll arrive in plenty of time to access the location of the ceremony, allowing us ample time to plan out the shoot to make it look the best.
Do we need to contact you near the big day?
No. Don’t worry. We know you’ll be very busy, so we’ll give you a courtesy call the week leading up to the wedding day to double-check the important details. We’ve found this is useful, as there’s often lots of time between the initial booking and the big day in which small changes are sometimes made which we need to know about.
What do I do if I’ve got any questions or requests regarding my booking?
Please don’t hesitate to get in contact via phone or email if you have any questions or queries, we’re always happy to help. All the contact information is on our contact page, and you can find the link just at the top of each page.
How will the Camera Operators be dressed?
Our Camera Operators will always be smartly dressed to ensure they blend in with the rest of your guests.
Will the Camera Operators be discreet and unobtrusive?
All of our Camera Operators are experienced in filming social events, and will be as discreet as possible, working around you to capture the big day in a documentary style.
We know it’ll be a busy and emotional day, but where appropriate, we’ll step in to speak to yourselves to help document your thoughts and feelings on your special day. Often we do this during the bride and groom preparations. This is a really key part in making a great video; see examples here.
How many people do you bring?
Two of us attend a shoot. One person operates the camera, and the other person produces to ensure that all the necessary shots are captured to make a great wedding video with a story.
The producer also operates camera two during certain parts of the day.
You mean you use two cameras?
Camera two is used in the Gold and Platinum packages to provide us with extra shots during the ceremony and speeches. This really helps us give so much extra to the performance. It allows us to get shots of the congregation looking on, and close ups of bride and groom.
Bear in mind that some churches and venues have restrictions on where we're allowed to place our cameras, so sometimes, some shots are not possible. We'll always get the best shots that we can from where we are allowed to go.
If you look at our samples library, you can see samples from videos created with all three packages, to help you compare.
How long will it take to receive the finished DVD?
Typically it takes between 10-12 weeks after the event to complete a DVD, which is around the same time your stills photographer will take to complete their photo album.
We’ll always attempt to have it finished as soon as possible, though.
How long will the finished DVD be?
Typically a finished DVD will run for 60-90 minutes, but this is really dependent on a number of factors, including how long the day itself is, and which package you choose.
Do you use the original music in your DVDs or do you have to replace it for copyright reasons?
Limelight Wedding Videos have appropriate licences to allow us to use a range of music including hymns from the ceremony, music from the reception and any commercial tracks added in afterwards.
Be aware that other wedding video companies may not have such a licence, and therefore will be legally obliged to replace ALL music from the day with sub-standard library music. Think of those awful pan pipes re-makes!!
We very much like to use the song you chose for your first dance to accompany the highlights of the day montage. In addition, we’ll use appropriate music at various points throughout the DVD. If there’s a particular track you want us to work in, just let us know.
Can I have extra copies of the DVD please?
We offer five DVDs as standard with all of our packages! You’ll find that many other Wedding Video companies only supply 1 or 2 copies as standard and charge up to £25 for each extra DVD, so we really are ahead of the others in terms of value for money.
If you do need additional copies, you can order an additional five DVDs. To fit within our music and copyright licences, and to ensure the cost to you is as low as possible, we can only present you with a total of five or ten DVDs only.
Will the DVD have an interactive Menu?
All of our DVDs will have chapter points on to allow you to navigate through different parts of the day. This means you can use the back and next buttons on your DVD remote to flip through to certain parts of the day without having to fast forward or rewind through it like an old video cassette.
The Gold and Platinum packages contain fully interactive menus, just like you’d see on DVDs you buy from the shop, featuring thumbnail “scene selection”, chapter marks and a personalised menu screen.
If you select the Silver package, the menu doesn’t come included, but you can add this on for a small additional fee. You’ll still be able to use the chapter points, though. See our extras for more information.
How will the DVD be packaged?
The five DVDs will be professionally printed with a personalised design and packaged in slim-line DVD cases.
What quality can I expect the finished DVD to be?
All of our videos are shot on High Definition (“HD”) broadcast quality cameras at 16:9 widescreen, by highly skilled individuals with an extensive range of industry experience.
Unlike other Wedding Video companies who have no or little experience in the Television and Broadcast industry, we have worked on programmes on the BBC and ITV as well as a range of productions on various Cable and Freeview Channels, both as technical operators (such as camera operators, sound operators, directors) and production staff (those responsible for the content of the programme, and the way in which it flows together).
Couples we’ve produced DVDs for so far do indeed say the quality is so good it looks like a normal TV programme! This is the standard to which all our DVDs are produced. See for yourself in our samples library.
Will the DVD play on all DVD players?
All of our DVDs conform to the correct technical standards, so they should play on all players and computers. We do spot check the discs before you receive them.
They are standard definition discs, so you don’t need to have one of the newer Blu-Ray or High Definition DVD player to play them.
I don’t actually own a DVD player
Don’t worry, they can be bought for around £15 - £20 in most supermarkets. You can also watch DVDs on most computers which are less than 5 years old.
What do I do if I’ve got any questions or requests after the big day?
Please don’t hesitate to get in contact via phone or email if you have any questions or queries, we’re always happy to help. All the contact information is on our contact page, and you can find the link just at the top of each page.
